Located in the suburb, Foo’s house is literally, a hidden gem. With a plain green signboard and nondescript exterior, it certainly doesn’t give off the typical “brainchild-of-a-young-entrepreneur” vibe, so present in trendy cafes nowadays. Helmed by an experienced chef with vast experience under his belt, we were excited to try food with the Hyatt touch without forking Hyatt prices.
When we entered, the whole place was rather dim, which felt very homely and comfortable. It looked popular with families and groups of elderly, and even though it was about 7.30pm, the café was relatively quiet with the occasional chatter. It seemed like the chef must have loved his vintage and football, as the interior looked like a retro sports bar with authentic vinyl records pasted on walls, and several club jerseys hung up for display.
There is also a bar serving beer on tap and other alcohol, so a beer lover will definitely feel at home here with his booze and burger.
The menu was rather varied and it was honestly difficult to make a choice among so many items. Even so, there were several specialties like its beef burgers and duck dishes. Service was acceptable, with two waitstaff serving food and taking orders. Another establishment to believe in hiring local staff, so two thumbs up for that!
